Who do you think of when you hear the phrase, “female athlete”? Tennis star Serena Williams and figure skater Michelle Kwan are usually on the list, along with Lindsey Vonn and Gabby Douglas. These incredible women have worked hard and received tremendous achievements, but they’re all relatively new to the game. What about previous generations of female athletes?
